Curriculum vitae

I completed my medical degree in New Zealand and began my ophthalmology training in the UK as a Senior House Officer at the Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton. I then took a Senior House Officer job at St Thomas' Hospital in London and went on to complete a retinal PhD at The Rayne Institute, St Thomas' Hospital. Following that I undertook a further four years of Registrar training based at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where I stayed on as a Vitreoretinal Fellow. I now work as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at King's College Hospital, a large teaching hospital in South London. I undertake cataract surgery and have a sub-specialty interest in macular and retinal surgery. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer and continue my research at The Rayne Institute, now part of King's College London (University of London). My research interests and peer reviewed publications are given below. In addition, I am Editor of the Moorfields Manual of Ophthalmology. I am currently a principal investigator for the CABERNET study of epimacular brachytherapy, a new surgical treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration developed by NeoVista.
